About Staan op vir die Six by Celeste Slabber-Loriston

In hierdie Afrikaanse Romeo en Juliet stry twee bendes oor gebied, met een van die bendeleiers se suster, Astrid, in die middel vasgevang. Die oorlog ontstaan oor die Six, waar Astrid se broer Poema en sy Strikers regeer. Die leier van die Havana Boys, Rolo, beheer al die ander buurte, behalwe die Six. Rolo wil ook die Six beheer, maar Poema weier om dit af te gee.

Astrid leer hard op skool en wil graag ’n beurs kry om weg te kom uit die Six. Die ontsteltenis rondom Auntie Rose se dood in die spervuur van die bendes noop haar om ’n veldtog aanlyn te begin. Sy noem dit #bendesmustfall en dit maak dat sy raakgesien word deur die gemeenskap, maar ook deur Rolo, want haar veldtog is besig om mense teen die bendes te laat draai – iets wat hom nie pas nie.

Wanneer Rolo sy broer Mervin dwing om met Astrid vriende te maak, begin dit ‘n onkeerbare golf van geweld en verraad in die Six. Waar bendes baklei, wen niemand nie.
