About Die Vuur Huil By Allen Grootboom
In the early 1970s Jakob Koetaan flees to Cape Town. By this time, he knows that every place in the Bay is being watched in the search for him. This is not the first time he has clashed with the Boers. He was only six years old when the authorities rounded up his people like cattle, bearing a letter that declared: We are now taking Towerwater, your family farm. When the country began to burn, Jakob had to ask himself: Is he prepared to fight for his land?
