It was a surprising read. I picked up the book because of book tok and because it was an age difference book. Alot of books that has to do with age difference that I have read so far was okay but this is the first time I read one that exceeded my expectation. It was such an emotional rollercoaster but in a good way. I have formed love-hate relationships with some of the characters but you have to read the book to understand why. Birthday girl is the first Penelope Douglas that I have read and believe me I am going to read here others. The way in which she writes makes sure her readers visualise her story. Don't get me started on the steamy parts. Two words. Chefs kiss. So amazing, just the right amount of smut.
