The Ruling Class is a fast-paced thriller that mixes mystery, politics, and high school drama in a really entertaining way. The story follows Tess Kendrick, who moves to Washington, D.C., to live with her older sister and suddenly gets thrown into a world full of secrets, scandals, and powerful people.

The Ruling Class by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

What I thought:
What makes the book so interesting is how tense everything feels. Even normal conversations seem important because everyone has something to hide. Tess is a strong main character because she’s clever, sarcastic, and willing to stand up for herself, even when she’s surrounded by rich and influential people. Her relationship with her sister Ivy also adds a lot to the story because it feels realistic and complicated.

The mystery keeps you hooked the whole time, and there are a lot of twists that make the book hard to put down. Jennifer Lynn Barnes does a great job of making politics feel exciting instead of boring. The only downside is that some parts can feel a little confusing because there are so many secrets and connections between characters.

Overall, The Ruling Class is an exciting and suspenseful read with smart characters and lots of drama. It’s perfect for readers who enjoy mysteries with secrets, power struggles, and unexpected twists.
